Dr. Allen and Dr. Ellman are experts with over 25 years experience in the fields of pain management, sports medicine, orthopedic medicine, rehabilitation, spine care and EMGs. They have combined board certifications in Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. They believe in a comprehensive approach to the treatment of pain that prioritizes identifying the underlying problem and facilitating recovery with the utmost levels of sympathy and understanding.
Originally from Kansas City, Dr. Allen went to University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree in Human Biology. For medical school, he went to the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, a top osteopathic medical school which requires graduates to undergo an additional 250 hours of training in spine and musculoskeletal injuries. After residency training in Chicago, he stayed to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at MacNeal Hospital. From there, he went on to complete a second fellowship in interventional spine and pain management in Birmingham, Alabama. In his free time he enjoys golf, tennis, scuba diving, photography and traveling with his wife.
